I would also add that the most influential tech companies are most informed by the socioeconomics of the founders’ years in school and as young adults: What’s important to them and their generation is given form by their ventures. Even if they access to the same software, Ellison and Gates and Jobs/Wozniak would never have done what Page/Brin, Zuckerberg and Dorsey did, because they came of age in a different time.
